Dr. Alvin Hodges, Senior Pastor
Alvin was born in McCormick County and lived in Mt. Carmel growing up. He is married to Debra Smith Hodges since 1968. He graduated Anderson University, Lander University, Southwestern Theological Seminary and Andersonville Seminary. He attend the University of Georgia and Toccoa Falls College. He has been interim at Friendship Baptist in Honea Path before coming to Temple. He served 31 years at Rice Memorial Baptist in Greenwood before that. He has served at Lillian Baptist in TX, Austin Road in Honea Path and Danielsville Baptist in GA.
He and Debra have led 18 trips to Israel and enjoy this teaching ministry. They both have spent 25 years serving as missionaries to Ukraine while at Rice. Alvin has done other missions overseas in Jamaica, Haiti and Costa Rica. They both have done mission trips in the US. They love doing campground ministries and did so in Cherokee NC, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg TN. They love to take groups on trips in the US when time allows.

Rev. George Haltiwanger-Transitional Worship Pastor
George was born and raised in Anderson, SC. It was there as a young teenager that he knew God was calling him into vocational ministry.
He comes to Temple after having served First Baptist Monks Corner, SC for 30 years as their Minister of Music. He works with the South Carolina State Baptist Convention and is a part of The Singing Churchmen who travel doing concerts from Washington, DC to Cleveland, Ohio and internationally.
